Driving spree Part- II
Now, after two years I started to learn driving all over again… Yup!! You got it right! I left learning driving in between, na.. na.. not because of that sarcastic trainer. Now, I have started learning driving almost three months back as we have bought a car on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Happy B’day…
Then, wasting no time, I started searching for good & affordable driving institute nearby my new house (we have shifted to new house a year back J) and joined it. The instructor was not sarcastic this time but surely blunt and he told me, “treat your car like your body (what the hell, did he mean with his comments... Ok Nandini Be cool !!) and make sure, it does not touch anything on the road… the way you make sure, you walk safely on the road… I am sure, this last line is kind-of-cover-up for his 1st line…
Oh God!!! Why always I get weird instructors??
I somehow managed to learn driving in his car and then, I requested a professional driver of my neighbors to teach me driving in my car to get confidence on the road. Some scratches in my car… some in others… But, now I am confident to drive alone. Though I also requested my friends, cousins, neighbors to sit with me in my car to see my driving and help me with some driving rules but all in vain. I am blessed with amazing kind of blindness.. ‘redlight blindness’ : irrelevant of how big & bright the red light is.. I always missed to see it..!! Weird..!!
My first independent attempt was to drive my car 4-5 kms with my mom to the place of my ex-residence in Paschim Vihar. Noteworthy, I drove the entire distance in 2nd gear and did not go beyond the speed of 30Km/hr. (Well, it must sounds funny, especially for veteran drivers). And after my courageous ordeal, my brother called me to make sure, if I have reached safely. (Possessive HE not for me but for CAR, ofcourse).
One of the most embarrassing incidents, I hit an almost 70 year old uncle, while taking U-turn near my home. It did not hit uncle much as the car was at the speed of 5Km/hr but he fell down with the sudden jerk of the car. Soon, people gathered there and cursed me while helping uncle to get from the road. As soon as uncle ji got up, he was well enough to curse me. Thank God! I was alone that day else family members would have also cursed me also…
But most memorable incident happened in
Now, back to my driving skills, after almost three months, I have become more confident and cautious driver. I have driven the car up to 10Kms alone at the speed of 60Km/hr in 4th gear on the suitably empty roads. God bless me and people around me on the roads!!! J J J
Few quick tips for safe driving:
- Follow traffic rules and for that, knowing them is most imp. J
- Must keep driving license with you as you never know, your car can also be towed away (It has also happened with me)
- Be quick in changing gears as when required, while keeping eyes on the road.
- Be confident as you own the car not the roads and DONOT HONK- Be patient!!

Rs.10 only
As the part of this modern and advanced youth generation, I also didn’t realize the value of Rs.10 until I had met with real life experience.
This is a story of one Saturday almost a month back.. I had to reach somewhere at 2.30pm. Though I was already late at home (my close friends won't be surprise with this). It generally takes me 45 mins to reach my destination from my home. On that day, I left home at around 2pm (as I already said, I was late). I took rickshaw to reach to bus stop. Rickshaw took 15mins and it dropped me at 2.20 pm near the bus stop.
The real shock came after getting down from rickshaw as I couldn’t find my purse to pay Rs.10 to rickshaw walla (rickshaw puller) . I was so confused that whether I left my small purse somewhere or somebody had stolen it.
I was already late to go back home to get some money or look for ATM nearby. So, I told the scenario to rickshaw puller honestly. Contrary to my thought, he found genuineness in my words and offered me money to carry on my journey further. But I refused his offering as I didnot want to get into trouble of finding him again to pay his money back (as I am very bad in remembering faces and names). Then, I asked a nearby Panwallah to lend me rs.20 but he refused he didn't know me well enough to lend me any money. Looking at this situation, rickshaw walla again offered me money. Helplessly, I accepted rs.10 from him (rs.5 for each side bus fare) in return of my name and address written on a paper for his convenience to come to my home to take his money. After all this drama, somehow, I managed to reach my destination almost on time.
When I reached in the evening, I found my purse was lying on my bed and rickshaw came to my home to take his money.
So, all is well in the end with the importance of rs.10 in my life....

The one mistake of my life!
Though no doubt that chetan bhagat's all 3 novels are amazing especially "Five point someone" But there are some things, which I am never able to decipher that why always the main protagonist fell in love with especially a controversial girl, which leads to many other MAJOR problems in his life. And another thing, why the hell, girls are always so desperate in his all books, I mean, why the hell in this world girls always want to do everything with this so-called sharif boy ( obviously, main protagonist) and managed to find amazingly secret and innovative places to do all that stuff.. And this sharif boy always justifies himself as "I went with the flow as no guy could resist it and he didnot know anything before about it ". Well.. after that, they cry and thought, if they did mistake, obviously, they won't regret as they thoroughly enjoyed everything.
Also, why always the main protagonist is average looking, little intelligent, average daring, simple and decent guy (no matter what he is doing with his girlfriend hiding from whole world).
He always has 2 friends one is exceptionally daring, masculine, intelligent, smart, decent (all good qualities), no affairs (atleast not mentioned in the book) and main protagonist generally banked on him for any major or minor problems in his life.
Ex- Ryan of "five point someone".. ooh! I always liked this character and anytime ready to marry him But I always wander, whether this kind of character/person do exist in real life also.
And his 2nd friend is always weak, dumb but sweet like Alok of "five point of someone" and Omi of "the 3 mistakes of my life".
And they always remained together and tried to solve each other's extraordinary life problems with unity. And ending of chetan bhagat's every book is amazing, very engrossing, superbly narrated, which I really love a lot about his all books.. :)
So, in the end.. chetan bhagat's every book is more or less same with 3 young friends and love affair in protagonist’s life, which leads to other major problems in his life (which makes chetan's novel even more interesting). He has always used narrative and easy language in his novel, which is very spontaneous and tempt his readers to read further and further to know what will happen in next line. His books focussed on young readers, which are comprised of major percentage of population in India, So, his books are always become a SIXER.
CARRY ON CHETAN.. GIVE US MORE AND MORE ENGROSSING BOOKS LIKE THIS. WISH YOU GUD LUCK AND GUDDAY!!
KEEP SMILING AND KEEP ROCKING!!

Driving is fun..??? really????? nahh..???
On d first day.. lots of butterflies were there in my stomache as well as in my head also as I was thinking, will I be able to learn this.. Is it my cup of coffee?? (i prefer coffee over tea.. ;)
As I was comparing this, with one of my childhood memory of learning skating. I tried that 3-4 weeks but all in vain and then I gave-up assuming its not my cup of tea.. ( now, I want to drink tea ;)
Now….BACK to driving.. well.. it was my 3rd day.. and I m learning holding stearing.. which is v.important part of maintaining balance of the car...basically, I m learning taking turns and more narrow turns, U-turns.. wid continous instructions entering in my head from my left ear.. (my instructor uncle).. and the moment I do any mistake, I always get a sweet comment, which is surely sarcastic.. and best part is that I cannot justify my mistake.. I remember, I tried this once on 2nd day.. But he said cutting my line in between.. "I m a teacher and u r a learner and u should never forget this. AND u should always accept ur mistake without any arguements".. I said.. haan ji.. theek hai".. watelse.. hhmm..
Also, on 3rd day.. he asked me very politely.. "ab to bachcha bada ho gaya, how old r u???".. and I was thinking, wah..!! this uncle is sweet and want to appreciate my learning skills or so-called driving skills.. and I said firmly with little optimism.. 21.. but all this feeling got vanished with his 2nd line.. "then, y r u rotating the stearing like 5 yr old kid..???" and my reaction is like "Oh.. God..!!", can't he say this straight forwardly?? ..isn't nice comment..?? huhh..???
well.. he is very honest .. no doubtedly.., when me and my mom went to ask him about his driving classes, he told us that I never shout on any of my students.. I teach them very politely.. but I think.. it was our mistake as we couldn’t decipher his meaning of "politeness"..
but .. in d end.. I think.. mujh jaise log aisi hi sikhenge.. hhmm.. And the hangover of learning driving is so high that instead of checking out smart hunks sitting in thier cars, I check their style of driving.. ;)
Now.. I will write after 15 days.. when I will learn driving completely to tell you whole experience of learning driving a car.. catch u soon.. Till then.. Eat well.. Sleep tight.. Be happy..!!
